Hey there!
I’m Sara, the creator of a ladder to the stars. I’m so glad you’ve chosen to come along for this adventure.
I’ve fallen in love with the phrase de profundis ad astra, which means “from the depths to the stars.” I take this to mean that life is lived in the range of highs and lows, and it is our privilege to create our own path from the lows to the highest heights. This is an attempt to make meaning out of what happens in between.
a ladder to the stars will bring you writing from me and other talented, thoughtful writers that make you think, laugh, cry, and feel connected to your soul and your fellow humans. How each post does that will be entirely up to the creator of it.
As a baby writer, I lived for the interaction around a piece of writing I shared and the discussion a piece can create. Most of the creators I know feel the same. Feel free to comment, add to, and challenge the thoughts shared here.
In any event, I’m super glad to have you here.
Some housekeeping…
Posts will fall into a couple of different categories, which will develop over time. Generally speaking, you’ll find:
a ladder to the stars: stories, ideas, and thoughts on life, creativity, spirituality, and more.
Midnight Medicine: a series of posts pulled from a book I’ve been (slowly) developing. Midnight Medicine explores how we can change the way we hold and experience the hard times in our lives.
Traveling Without a Map: pieces on traveling that I’ve written over the years.
You’ll start receiving updates right here in your inbox, about once a week or more. As always, you can log into Substack (and download the app) to read the archives or other posts as they go live.
If you can’t find the newsletter, check your spam folder. And please mark this address as ‘not spam.’ If the newsletter isn’t in your spam folder, either, you should look in the Promotions tab.
About me…
I’ve been a professional writer, editor, creative coach and mentor for over a decade, and my work has supported hundreds of leaders, CEOs, and entrepreneurs to write and publish their books. I’m a New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestselling ghostwriter and book doctor as well as an energy healer and guide.
My work also extends into thought leadership in that I help people take their body of work and construct meaningful and useful philosophies and mental models that teach and spread their message.
I’ve coached and guided dozens of other writers to form businesses with their writing or to (re)kindle their creative lives and practices. If you’d like to learn more, visit sarastibitz.com.
On a personal note, I'm an avid reader (naturally), love to travel widely and for as long as I can, and I have a daughter named Lily, a partner named Ryan, and an 82-pound goldendoodle who thinks he's a lapdog. I've spent a considerable amount of time studying narrative medicine, logotherapy, creative process, spiritual practice and shamanic healing work, all of which inform my writing and work with clients.
Thanks again, and if you like what you see, please feel free to share widely.
Sara
